Successful completion of this 8-hour course satisfies the continuing competency requirements for Personal Survival Techniques and Fire Prevention and Firefighting in STCW Section A-VI/1, 46 CFR 11.302(d) and 46 CFR 12.602(d), provided that the student has 360 days of service in the last 5 years.
Any applicant who has successfully completed this 8 hour Basic Training Revalidation course will be considered to have demonstrated continued proficiency in STCW Basic Training. This course covers the learning and practical objectives for mariner to demonstrate continued knowledge, understanding and proficiency of the minimum competencies for basic training in Personal Survival Techniques and Basic Fire Fighting.
