Description
This 4.5-hour course is designed to provide the mariner with the experience that combines formal classroom instruction with actual hands-on performance and demonstration. This training course will emphasize the importance of identifying and utilizing all available resources to ensure the safety of the crew, cargo, and the vessel.
Candidates who complete this course will satisfy the written examination and demonstration of ability requirements of 46 CFR 11.482(b).
Each student who completes this course will gain the knowledge and understanding of the following subject areas:
1. Towing Safety
2. Towing Equipment
3. Towing Procedures
This training program places a heavy emphasis on practical knowledge of topics, including but not limited to: Towing safety, equipment, procedures, terminology, and emergency procedures
