This 5-day includes Personal Survival Techniques (PST), POOL Day, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR), Basic Firefighting, Elementary First Aid CPR, and Fire Field.

Successful completion of this 8-hour course satisfies the continuing competency requirements for Personal Survival Techniques and Fire Prevention and Firefighting.

This course of instruction is designed to aid Duval County High School students interested in a career as a merchant mariner and fulfills all the U.S. Coast Guard academic requirements. Successful completion enables students to file for a Merchant Mariner Credential prior to graduating High School.
