This 40-hour course of instruction is designed to provide to the Able Seaman a training experience that combines formal classroom instruction with actual hands-on performance and demonstration.

This 5-day course includes Personal Survival Techniques (PST), POOL Day, Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR), Basic Firefighting, Elementary First Aid CPR, and Fire Field.

Completion of this program leaves the student better prepared as an entry-level merchant mariner than nearly all others he or she will be competing with in the job market.

The purpose of this bundle course to provide training for mariners in Personal Survival Techniques, Emergency Evolutions, and Evacuation Procedures, and Steward training.

This course provides training for officers and ratings. It comprises a basic training program appropriate to their duties, including oil and chemical tanker safety, fire safety measures and systems, pollution prevention, operational practice, and obligations under applicable laws and regulations.
