First Day of Class Information
Greetings, future seafarer! We look forward to welcoming you on your first day of class!
Please carefully review the following information and call us if you have any questions.
Check-In Time
Please arrive early on your first day to get checked in.
- Arrive by 7:30 AM for day classes.
- Arrive between 5:00-5:30 PM for evening classes.
Bluewater Maritime School is located at 1719 Blanding Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32210.

Dress Code
All students are expected to adhere by the following dress code while on campus:
- Maintain proper attire such as you would wear for your first day of work onboard a ship.
- All clothing must be clean and free from holes, rips, or stains.
- Clothing must fit appropriately (no skin-tight, short, or revealing clothing).
- PANTS: Jeans, sweats, or shorts are acceptable and must remain at waist level at all times. Shorts must be arm length or longer.
- SHOES: Boots, sneakers, or other closed-toe/closed-heel shoes are required. No crocs, slides, flip-flops, sandals, slippers, house shoes, or heels.
- SHIRTS: Clean t-shirts, crew necks, or hoodies are acceptable. No tank tops, tube tops, mid-drifts, low-cut tops, or muscle shirts.
Payment
- For Ordinary Seaman classes, we require a minimum of $1,100 paid by the first day of class. In most cases, students have already paid a $350 deposit and need to bring $750 with you on the first day in order to start class. Please call us if you have questions regarding your balance.
- You can bring cash or money order, or pay with a credit or debit card. Card payments have a 2% processing fee for a total of $765 if paying by card.
- The final payment of $750 will be due by the end of the second week of class.
