Day and Evening Classes Available
The program can be completed during your choice of:
Day Course
- 3 weeks
- Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
Night Course
- 6 weeks
- Monday-Friday, 6:00pm – 10:00 pm

Training Includes
Our unique program of instruction meets and exceeds the United States Coast Guard testing requirements for Specially Trained Ordinary Seaman.
This course of training includes these 7 certificates:
Basic Training (STCW)
- Basic Firefighting: 16 Hours
- First Aid and CPR: 8 Hours
- Personal Survival Techniques: 12 Hours
- Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities: 4 Hours
Security
- Vessel Personnel Designated Security Duties (VPDSD): 8 Hours
Marline Seamanship
- Marlinspike Seamanship (knot tying, line handling and splicing; ship terminology and construction; lines and anchoring)
Navigational Watch
- Rating Forming Part of the Navigational Watch (RFPNW): 40 Hours
Total Course Fee:
3- or 6-week Ordinary Seaman Course: $1,850
Payment Plan:
- $350 enrollment deposit (due today)
- $750 before the first class
- $750 by the end of the second week
If you need time to save up, you can select a course date several months in the future. $350 enrollment deposit holds your seat. Class sizes are limited and fill quickly.

About Us
Bluewater Maritime School has been providing merchant marine training to professional and future seafarers since 1998. All facilities, instructors, and courses are approved by the United States Coast Guard. We are designated by the State of Florida as a state maritime training facility and a vocational rehabilitation training school.
