Training includes:
Our unique program of instruction meets and exceeds the United States Coast Guard testing requirements for Specially Trained Ordinary Seaman.
This course of training includes:
- Basic Training (STCW) - basic firefighting, first Aid and CPR, personal survival techniques, personal safety and social responsibilities
- Vessel Personnel Designated Security Duties (VPDSD)
- Rated Forming Part of the Navigational Watch (RFPNW)
We also include Marlinespike Seamanship, which is imperative for the safety and competency of any seafarer, and includes ship terminology, ship construction, lines, anchoring, knot tying, line handling, and splicing.
The program can be completed during your choice of:
- Day Course: 3 weeks, Monday-Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
- Night Course: 6 weeks, Monday-Friday, 6:00pm–10:00 pm

About Us:
Bluewater Maritime School has been providing merchant marine training to professional and future seafarers since 1998. All facilities, instructors, and courses are approved by the United States Coast Guard. We are designated by the State of Florida as a state maritime training facility and a vocational rehabilitation training school.
